Notification System
The notification system in enrutar works simply: after certain actions, users receive notifications related to Work Orders and Appointments.
What is the notification system?
Notifications serve to alert employees when something relevant happens in items where they participate or that they are following (for example: assignments, comments or mentions).
In practice, the system relies heavily on a key idea: if an employee "follows" a work order, they receive its notifications.
Notifications show the title of the work order or appointment they refer to, making it easy to identify what each notification is about without having to open the application.
When are notifications sent?
An employee can receive notifications, for example, when:
- They are added as an assignee of a work order.
- They are assigned as an operator in an appointment.
- Someone writes a comment in a work order they are following (see Comments).
- An interaction occurs that triggers notifications within a work order they follow.
The practical rule is: if the action is associated with a work order and you follow it, you will be notified.
Automatic follow-up when assigned
There are cases where follow-up is activated automatically:
- If you assign an employee as an assignee of a work order, that employee starts following the work order immediately.
If you assign an employee as an operator of an appointment, that employee starts following:
- The appointment and/or
- The work order related to that appointment (as applicable in the flow).
If you mention an employee in a work order comment and they have access according to the Permission System
From that point on, any interaction that generates notifications in that work order will be received by that employee.
Following work orders manually
In addition to automatic follow-up by assignment, an employee can follow work orders manually as long as they have access according to the Permission System. If they have access to the work order, they can enter it and activate follow-up in the right column, in the last option Notifications there is a Follow button.
To unfollow, the operation is the same — the button simply says
Unfollow.
Push notifications (web push)
In addition to in-app notifications, enrutar can send you browser push notifications to alert you even if enrutar is in a background tab or the browser is minimized.
When you log in, enrutar requests permission to send notifications. If you accept, you will start receiving them automatically. You can also enable or disable them at any time from Settings.
