First steps in the office

In this guide we will discover how to perform the basic office tasks in enrutar.

Creating a Customer

To create a new customer you can navigate to Customers. Once there, click on Create Customer, which will take you to the creation form.

Here you can provide all the relevant data you want to store about the customer. The only required field is the name. To get the most out of Work Orders and Appointments it is recommended to provide at least a phone number and an address. As for the identifier, one will be automatically assigned if you leave it blank — see Identifier System for more.

Once you save, you will have created your first customer.

enrutar allows bulk customer imports and more customization options — more information at Customers

Creating a Work Order

The next step once you have the Customer is to create a new Work Order. Navigate to Work Orders. Once there, click Create Work Order and you will reach the creation form.

As with customers, you can provide as much information as you consider necessary. The Title and description are vital for describing the nature of the task to be performed. Additionally, Work Order Statuses and Work Order Tags make organization easier and help with filtering and searching.

Finally, select a customer for the work order and choose the phone, email (if available) and address. These will be the details that the field operator can see when performing the appointment.

Creating an Appointment

The last step for a Work Order to be carried out is to create an Appointment. From the Work Order page itself you can click Create Appointment on the right side of the screen. This will open a form to enter the appointment details.

In this form, you can see that the title and description have been automatically filled in based on the Work Order. You can keep this data or modify it. Next, enter the date and start and end times of the appointment.

Finally, continue and choose the Operator who will carry out the Appointment. When you create the appointment, it will automatically appear on the Operator's My Workday screen so they can report back once it is completed.

There are more features and settings related to Appointments. Explore all options at Appointments.
